Christmas Shopping in Manchester

Christmas Shopping in Manchester

Well it’s that time of year again. What kind of Christmas shopper are you?  Regardless of whether you’re getting organised to buy yours now, or whether you won’t have started by mid-December we’ve got a great idea to make your Christmas Shopping more relaxing. But before that, here’s our guide to the best Christmas shopping in Manchester.

Manchester is awash with festive cheer.  Hit the market trail to find some unusual gifts. Dotted around the city you’ll find Christmas markets at various locations including St Ann’s Square, Albert Square and Exchange Street. Albert Square is the location of the Manchester European Christmas Markets while Exchange Street is home to The Christmas Arts and Crafts Market.   Our top tip? The German market at St Ann’s Square is a must eat and drink venue.  It’s so popular be prepared for queues. These are but three destinations on the trail which covers more than 5 different locations. As usual there is a wide variety of festive food and drink available. Why not stop and enjoy some warm mulled wine outside?  Or if mulled wine is not your thing, try a beer in one of the beer halls?

While the Christmas markets are widely thought to be the jewel in Manchester’s Christmas crown, you could, especially if you’re shopping with children, opt for the Magical Christmas Fair at Manchester Central. There are stalls a plenty and children can meet Santa.  For adults there are also a wide range of restaurant and bars. Why not take the weight off your feet? Or meet up with friends?

Now Manchester usually combines the best of both worlds. It’s pedestrian friendly most of the year and there’s parking a plenty. But at Christmas you’d be forgiven for thinking special rules apply. Traffic is manic and carting shopping bags round all day through crowds gets tiring. We know it does. And of course if you’re driving home you can’t have that mulled wine.

We have a suggestion. Why not use a chauffeur driven car to help you avoid the traffic and the hustle and bustle of Christmas shoppers? It’s also a great way to keep your ever increasing number of shopping bags secure. You can even sample some of the drink available at the markets. Make the day extra special by finishing it off with having drinks with friends and let us drive you home. Christmas shopping was never so enjoyable!
